What we collect

The video links you submit, the files you upload, the transcripts we create, a random browser identifier stored in a cookie, and your IP address. When you use the site, the pages you open, the site that sent you here, your country and whether you use a phone or a computer. If you sign in with Google, your name, email address and profile picture. If you create an account with an email and password, your email address and a securely hashed version of your password (we never store the password itself). If you join the waitlist, your email address and the plan you were interested in.

How we use it

To create your transcript, to count your free minutes, to prevent abuse, to count visits so we can improve the site, and to email you about plans if you asked us to. We do not sell your data and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

Audio and video

When you upload a video, your browser extracts the audio first, so in most cases only the audio is sent to us. Audio and video files, whether downloaded from a link or uploaded, are used only to create your transcript and are deleted as soon as it is ready or the job fails. We do not keep copies.

Service providers

We share only what each provider needs to do its job:

Where data is processed

Our server is in the United States, and our providers may process data in other countries. By using the service you agree to this transfer.

How long we keep it

Transcripts are kept so you can open and download them again, until you delete them. Signed-in users can delete any transcript from their history; deleting it removes the link, title and text from our database. Usage counts and visit records are kept to prevent abuse and to understand how the site is used.

Your choices

To get a copy of your data, delete your account and all of its transcripts, or delete transcripts you made without an account, email us with the links or the account email.
